Welcome! My name is Ethan vanderWilden and I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research explores how historical narratives shape modern political attitudes and behavior, including projects around how remembering, reconciling with, or learning about history affect outcomes such as prejudice, attitudes towards conflict, and voting behavior. My dissertation examines the connection between authoritarian nostalgia and changes to modern party systems. My work has been published in the American Journal of Political Science and Political Science Research and Methods.
